Family Medicine, in order to contribute to the health of the individual, family and society, in all stages of life such as childhood, adolescence, adulthood and advanced age, and continuously, without making any discrimination such as gender, complaint or illness, A specialty that requires acquiring the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes in order to provide a modern, qualified, evidence-based health service in accordance with the principles of medical ethics for the protection and improvement of health and the early diagnosis, treatment, follow-up and rehabilitation of all health problems that may be encountered in primary care. Branch. In our country, Family Medicine specialization training first started in 1985 at the Ministry of Health Training Hospitals in three big cities (Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir).
With the decision of Higher Education Council dated 16 July 1993 and numbered 12547, it was deemed appropriate to establish family medicine departments in Medical Faculties. Our clinic was established in 2022 and started active specialization training by taking its first assistants with the 2022 1st Term Medical Specialization Exam.
Family Medicine Specialization Training:
Family Medicine Specialization training consists of a 3-year residency process, which is entered with the Medical Specialization Exam after 6 years of the Faculty of Medicine. This period consists of the following components:
* Family Medicine clinic,
* Internal Medicine Program,
* Pediatric Health and Diseases Program,
* Gynecology and Obstetrics Program,
*Psychiatry Program,
* Cardiology,
* Chest Diseases,
* Emergency Medicine,
* Skin and Venereal Diseases,
* Elective (in one of the branches of Neurology / Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation / General Surgery)
During the residency training, rotation qualifications are obtained from the relevant departments, in addition, training activities are carried out in the Department of Family Medicine, with seminars and literature presentations.
The family Medicine outpatient clinic provides service in the P1 corridor of the psychiatric hospital every weekday during working hours. You do not need to change your family practice to be examined in our department.
