Kayseri City Hospital Brain and Nerve Surgery Clinic was established on May 5, 2018 by specialist doctors transferred from Kayseri Training and Research Hospital.
In the Brain and Nerve Surgery clinic; 1 Chief Assistant and 10 Specialist Doctors are working. We have 19 service patient beds and 14 3rd level intensive care beds. In 5 outpatient clinics, an average of 6000 patients with and without an appointment is examined per month. An average of 120 surgeries is performed per month in 2 operating rooms. Major surgeries are:
- Neurotrauma
- Medical and surgical treatment of pathologies that develop after brain, nerve and spinal cord trauma,
- Neurooncological surgery: Surgical treatment of brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerve tumors
- Neurovascular surgery: Surgical treatment of vascular pathologies seen in the brain and spinal cord region.
- Pain Treatment: Examination and treatment of problems that cause chronic head, neck, back and low back pain,
- Peripheral Nervous System Surgery: Examination and treatment of all kinds of trauma, entrapment neuropathy and tumors related to peripheral nerves,
- Spinal Surgery: Microsurgery treatment of waist and neck hernias, examination and treatment of spine and spinal cord pathologies due to trauma and other pathological conditions (degeneration, infection, tumor and vascular lesions), surgery of pathological spine fractures with percutaneous minimally invasive approach (vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty). - Functional Neurosurgery: Surgical operations are performed for pathologies such as epileptic seizures that do not respond to drug treatment (placement of vagal nerve stimulators, spasticity, and pain that does not respond to medical treatment.
