The foundation of our hospital is Memleket Hospital with 25 beds, the foundation of which was laid in 1884, the first hospital institutionally in Kayseri, opened in 1910 and started to provide full service only in 1924 due to the impossibilities of that period. It has been serving as a City Hospital with 50 beds in 1938, 100 beds in 1943, 560 beds in 1968, 1414 beds in 2012, and 1607 beds since May 5, 2018.
In 2005, the first ENT Training Clinic started to operate in the hospital, which was transformed into Kayseri Training and Research Hospital. The ENT Training Clinic, which has been growing and developing every year since 2008, provides services to approximately 2,500,000 patients in Kayseri and its surroundings. In our ENT Clinic, currently Prof.Dr. İbrahim Özcan and Assoc. Dr. Mehmet Yaşar works as a training officer and provides services with 13 specialists and 9 assistant physicians.
ENT Clinic within the body of Kayseri City Hospital, 36 qualified beds, 4 operating rooms, outpatient examination room with 15 endoscopy units, 10 audiometry devices, 2 clinical BERA, 2 OAE, 2 VEMP, 2 VHİT, 1 ENOG, 2 VNG and caloric test devices; It is a clinic where modern technologies, up-to-date medical information and surgeries are applied with 3 expert audiologists, 9 audiometrists, 1 speech and swallowing disorders therapist.
In accordance with the Education Clinic format, in addition to daily patient visits and trainings, audiology and publication meetings are held on Wednesdays, polyclinic council, tumor council, article and seminar programs are held on Fridays; mortality and morbidity meetings are held.
In 2017, 4295 surgeries were performed in our Clinic, which performed the most outpatient examinations in Turkey with 242,420 patients. In our clinic, cochlear implant surgeries, which are described as bionic ears, are performed after the necessary examinations and examinations, especially for our hearing-impaired children who are detected by the newborn hearing screening program between the ages of 0-4; In this way, it is ensured that these children, together with their peers at school age, receive education with their hearing and speaking disabilities removed, and participate in life as individuals without disabilities.
In addition, standard and advanced surgeries such as advanced surgical treatment of head and neck diseases, especially cancers, all ear surgeries, endoscopic sinus surgery, nose surgeries, adenoid, tonsil, middle ear ventilation tube application are performed.
